Fire Pipe Collars, Fire Wraps and Downlighter Covers

Fire Pipe Collars are designed to help reinstate the fire resistance of a wall or floor, which has been penetrated to allow services such as gas, water, plastic flammable pipes and flammable gases. Our Pyroplex fire pipe collars can be fitted to or set-in to a wall or ceiling construction. They are also suitable for use on concrete, masonry and plasterboard partitions.

Our fire pipe collars are available in a number of fire ratings including 2 and 4 hour ratings. This means that they should resist fire up to 2 or 4 hours depending on the chosen collar, this can make the difference of a contained fire and an un-contained fire. Pyroplex fire pipe collars are extremely easy to fit in to place using only a few screws and features a tab closing device ensuring a quick and easy fix. The pipe collars will seal pipes of sizes between 55m-160mm ideal for most requirements.

Also in our electrical and plumbing range we also supply downlighter covers. Many commercial buildings use downlighters in ceilings that are subject to fire regulation. Once a ceiling has been penetrated to allow the installation of a downlighter, the ability to hold off fire is compromised as the construction is weakened and fire can spread through the holes.

To re-instate the protection the ceiling construction will require a downlighter cover to help protect the hole against fire. During a fire the cover will expand to fill the hole that was created for downlights and fill any gaps. The fire will be unable to penetrate the cover and help reduce the fire spreading. In addition downlighter covers will also give additional insulation protection that will reduce the chance of heat build up and ignition of flammable materials such as dust, wiring or insulation.

Fire Wraps are also extremely important whilst protecting a building from fire. They have been specifically designed to reinstate fire protection of walls and floors that may have been penetrated by services such as plastic flammable pipes or drainage services. They are available in 2 and 4 hour fire ratings which means that the fire wraps they should withstand fire for up to 2 and 4 hours.

Installation of fire wraps is very easy, to install the wraps you simply need to wrap it around the pipe using an adhesive tab and slide along the pipe into the wall or floor cavity.
